Mary Jo Yeats, age 78, passed away August 17, 2017. She was born on March 15, 1939 to Gertrude and Matthew Sturm in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mary Jo Yeats was a loving daughter, sister and aunt to her family. She will always be remembered for her love of traveling, fashion, cigarettes, Wendy’s chick strips and chocolate frosties and the great outdoors.
Mary Jo Yeats is preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Gertrude Sturm, sisters Patricia Ross, Roberta Sturm and JoAnn Sturm. She is survived by her sisters: Rose Metz, Loretta Simon, Margo Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kathleen Ferris of Hastings, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Society in her name.
