Lewis “Sonny” Douglass, age 83, passed away on January 14, 2018. He was born in McAlester, OK on October 10, 1934 to Mary and Lewis Douglass. He graduated from WB Ray High School in 1952. He attended Texas A&M University before enlisting in the Navy and serving as a Seabee for 31 years before retiring as a chief. He was a member of the IBEW 278 for 64 years and the American Legion Post 364. He will always be remembered for his vegetable garden and his love of fishing, hunting and the fighting Texas Aggies.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Sorensen. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Aline, daughter, Charlene Kinsey (Bob), Son, Ed Douglass, III (Jennifer), granddaughter, Julie Foy (Jay), grandson, Josh Douglass, and three great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Isaac and Georgia Foy, brother, Joe Douglass, sister, Margie Scott, favorite in-laws, Peggy and Bob Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Glenn Bugay for his care throughout the years.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Legion Post 364.
